West Union

Completed in 1931, the West Campus Union Building was constructed in the center of Duke’s campus to serve as a gathering place for students. It underwent a complete renovation and expansion in 2016 and was renamed the Richard H. Brodhead Center for Campus Life. Brodhead served as president from 2004 to 2017. Inside are a wide range of eateries featuring various cultures, as well as lounge areas to relax and socialize. Its original architect, Julian Abele, is also credited with Duke Chapel and West Campus.
