Duke’s main campus may be nearly 200 miles from the ocean, but that didn’t stop the Duke Trustees from envisioning, in the 1930s, a teaching and research facility on the coast. Here, aerial photos from 1965 and today show just how much has changed in the Marine Lab’s 85-plus-year history.
