Commencement in Wallace Wade Stadium

Opened in 1929 as Duke Stadium, it was renamed Wallace Wade Stadium in 1967 after former Blue Devil head coach Wallace Wade. The venue has hosted numerous events including the 1942 Rose Bowl as well as the Rolling Stones in 2005. But every May, the “Wally” as it’s affectionately called, fills with students in caps and gowns, along with proud family members, to serve as annual host for graduation. This year, the Class of 2024 will be the 100th class to graduate from Duke University as we celebrate our Centennial.
