Today’s Duke University Centennial Celebration Kickoff event and Winter Chill reception will go on as scheduled.
If you are planning to attend the program in Cameron or Winter Chill, please be cautious and use your best judgment as you travel to the stadium and to campus.
Along with heavy rain, winds will continue to increase throughout the day with sustained winds of 20-30 mph expected during the hours of the 3pm-6pm. Gusts as high as 35-45 mph will also be possible.
Duke will be running shuttle buses from the Science Drive Parking Garage to Cameron Indoor Stadium.
Tickets are not required for the reception

Wristband Process & Timing for Wristband Pick Up
Wristbands are required for faculty, staff, students and invited guests who plan to consume alcohol at the reception. We recommend that guests over the age of 21 obtain a wristband ahead of the event. Please make sure you have your Duke ID and Driver’s License with you in order to receive a wristband. On Tuesday, January 9th, you will be able to pick up your wristband for Winter Chill at the following times and locations:
- The Landing (Bryan Center, lower level) 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
- Wilson Recreation Center/Card Gym 3 p.m. – 4 p.m.
Wristbands will be available at the reception in Wilson Recreation Center/Card Gym from 5 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. for those unable to obtain them in advance.
Dress
Dress is business casual or Duke spirit wear.
Event Policy
The stadium policy will remain in effect for the Winter Chill reception.
All bags and purses must be clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and no larger than 12″ x 12″ x 6″ or
Small clutches/wallets that fit in the palm of the hand – no larger than 8″ x 5″ x 1″
If you arrive with a bag that does not meet these requirements you will be asked to check it at Scott Family Athletics Performance Center.
Rain Plan
Due to anticipated inclement weather, the reception has been relocated Wilson Recreation Center/Card Gym.
Parking
For those who are driving to the event, parking will be available in Science Drive Garage. Shuttle service will be provided for guests parking in the Science Drive Garage. The shuttle will deliver guests to Whitford Circle right outside of Cameron Indoor Stadium.
Accessible parking will be available on the 2nd floor of the Science Drive Garage, in addition to accessible shuttles that will drop-off & pick-up at the Whitford Circle from 3 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
