In honor of Duke’s Centennial Celebration, ¡DALHE! is centering the theme for this year’s Hispanic Heritage Month around understanding our past while we look to the future, Pasado y Perspectiva (Past and Perspective).

The event will feature Duke’s Hunt Family Assistant Professor of History Cecilia Márquez, author of Making the Latino South: A History of Racial Formation (Latinx Histories). Dr. Márquez will deliver remarks on our history in this region and its significance to our institution as we look forward.

To launch into the second century, we will facilitate a discussion with Cecilia Márquez, Rosa Gonzalez-Guarda, and Norma Martí, about research, healthcare, education, and community to inspire our next 100 years.
