The program will feature four distinctive events throughout the day:

  • ‘Light in Service of Society’: a poster session showcasing research contributions
  • ‘Lightning Speed’ Centennial Symposium: a special continuous video loop featuring ‘Lightning Talks’ presenting FIP faculty’s groundbreaking research accomplishments in photonics
  • ‘Exploring The Wonder of Light’ exposition booths from the Duke Optical Student Chapter (DOSC) demonstrating Lasers, Lenses & Light
  • ‘Moving Forward at The Speed of Light through Space & Time’: A session on Light Painting dedicated to creating art inspired by the leaders of Duke’s past, present, and future
