Department of Pediatrics Samuel L. Katz 2024 Research Retreat is an annual event, featuring opportunities for faculty, trainees, students and staff to showcase and discuss current research related to Pediatrics. This year’s theme is Genetic Insights Learned from Single Gene Disorders: Navigating Barriers to Prediction and Diagnosis, Applications to Common Diseases, and the Future of Genomic and Precision Medicine. The retreat includes events occurring over the course of a week. Tuesday features a Keynote Address and Fireside Chat with Bruce Gelb, from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai entitled Noonan Syndrome and Related Disorders: How to Get to Less but Not Too Little. Wednesday features a poster session (80 posters) and Top Abstract Platform Presentations. Thursday features a panel discussion on Single Gene Disorders including faculty from across the School of Medicine. Friday features a Career Development panel discussion geared towards early career physician-scientists and scientists.
