Glenn Miller Orchestra Performs in Cameron

The year was 1940 and Glenn Miller and his Orchestra were booked at the new Cameron Indoor Stadium. The band had catapulted into the national spotlight the year before following several successful concerts. They performed at Cameron for a live audience of 10,000. Their sponsor also was headquartered in Durham, or as Glenn Miller’s commercials labeled it, “tobaccoland.”
