Join Duke Dance Program celebrating the Duke Centennial and the longevity of the Ark Studio with live music and mad fun! Built in 1898, we honor the Ark Studio as the site of the Duke Dance Program’s beginnings in 1982. We have over 100 years to celebrate!
The Dance Program now has an MFA and extends to the Rubenstein Arts Center. Did you know that the Ark has been a gymnasium, bowling alley, laundry, photography studio, cafeteria, site for social dance and relaxation, and now the Duke Dance Program dance studio and site for creative collaborations and embodied research? This celebratory event commemorates a noble past and partnerships with the American Dance Festival, African American Dance Ensemble, and local and international artists. All are welcome to party the night away and show the Ark some love. RSVP now, all are welcome!
